Unsure. Good science reporting is good, but infotainment is always bad. This reminded me of this webcomic: http://www.smbc-comics.com/index.php?db=comics&id=1623

You've probably seen this already. http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4167 Realistically, science debates should only allow the scientists to speak and keep the other side silent. (-: At the very least, non-scientists should have their time limited to asking questions and scientists given full time to give a measured answer. There's an interesting reference in the topic's video to "a lone scientist against everyone else". That's certainly part of the problem with 'debates' against science, but also the idea that the truth is negotiable.
