I ditched it on Friday, as I realised that the only people it was putting me in touch with was people I was kinda glad not to be in touch with anyway. And I was facebook stalking my ex... :S In fact, truth be told that's the main reason - it would have been a clean break, and I would (will) be happier staying friends without the constant reminders that she is going out and having fun with all kinds of hot men that actually like nightclubs...!

But how will I know if people break up and make up all the time?!!!

EXACTLY! It's already; made my life better, I no longer update my friggin status every time I'm bored... Though I do still have the urge, and it's all I can do not to use discussionator as an outlet for it... Please shout at me if I start a series of 'I am going to a job interview today' type posts... ;-)

Heh, I did once consider letting people set their current status... Facebook really is bad. You get requests to add people you don't particularly care about, or worse people you don't mind only to discover that you actually don't want them to see what you're up to. Sure, you can apply security and even split people into groups of 'real friends' and other acquaintances, but it simply doesn't work. It still publishes information to everyone and it's difficult to know what others are seeing, so you stop updating altogether. Yet it does remain interesting to watch what others are doing, and the way it lets you look at photographs from complete strangers means you never quit completely.

Heh, yeah, facebook stalking people is fascinating, it's what I'll miss most... But so far I'm doing well, I haven't really had any major desire to look yet, and the lack of updates about my ex is awesome! :P I nearly said 'do it!' to the statuses, but then remembered I'd said that was a bad thing about facebook!

Mmmh... I have a dummy account, and considered using it for real after being nagged by my blackberry to login to facebook. Thought it better and ditched the shortcut instead.
