It's entertaining. How are the puzzles generated?

It tells you in the help. The algorithm for splitting the rectangle works like this. First, the colours are allocated to single cells at random, so that they are scattered. Next, a cell is chosen randomly from those which are adjacent to ones which already have a colour allocated to them. The cells colour is randomly selected from those available in the 4 surrounding cells. This second step is repeated until all cells have been allocated, and it 'extends' the shapes from the seeds created by the first step. The shapes are then scrambled by repeatedly moving them to random positions with the same constraints that the user has, guaranteeing a solution.

I found it so friendly I forgot to read the help =P It's interesting how only 10 pieces can make it really hard if they can be combined in several ways. Most are easy, but the top rated are really hard.

You can go up to 15 shapes if you wish, although even the default settings are surprisingly difficult - I was worried that the puzzles would be too easy before I wrote it. I'm off out for the evening - have fun with it.
