One of my pet peeves on Ubuntu Hardy is that Firefox crashes because FlashPlayer 9 has issues with PulseAudio, the sound mixer. Since this problem has been solved, I suppose the fix will be included in Ubuntu 8.10, but for the curious, here is the fix, which I tried myself a few days ago, so far so good: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=5587712&postcount=472

one of the things that annoyed me was the lack of 64-bit support for flash. The only way to get around that was through emulation. Not sure if thats been solved, but Adobe was holding up the 64-bit community, and the fact that Apple left them out of the iPhone business made me glad

@Patofeo: Why would you use the 64 bit version? Do you have that much RAM?

That's for 4Gb or more
